I upgraded my BMW 3 Series! My husband and I agreed it was time to start researching the best way to go as far as making a new vs. pre-owned car purchase, because his car was starting to really get up there as far as miles go, and I since I drive the least, we purchased an upgrade for me, and Chris took my old car. We traded his car in.
My previous car was a 2008 BMW 328xi, and I loved it since the day I test drove it. I fell in love with the 3 Series as a whole, so I knew I wanted the same model in the same colors, but just a bit newer. I took delivery of my 2013 BMW 328i xDrive this past week at BMW of Bridgewater:
The exterior color is Alpine White and the interior comes with Black Dakota Leather:
I’ve come to learn that black interior gives me a calming feeling, which is why I had my heart set on this color combo. The Dark Burl Walnut wood trim gives it such class!
This was a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, or CPO. This means I have the CPO warranty, the remainder of the original warranty, and something called a SULEV warranty. SULEV stands for Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle. So basically, it’s good for the environment.
I’ll get into the features/packages with you, then I want to share my buying experience with my salesperson!
This particular vehicle has the following features:
- Cold Weather Package (heated seats for both front and back, heated mirrors, headlight washers, and even a heated steering wheel!)
- Lighting Package (xenon headlights that move as you turn, illuminating door handles, and an abundance of LED lighting accents throughout)
- Premium Package (Dakota Leather interior, Comfort/Keyless Access System, the remainder of the satellite radio, multiple position lumbar support)
Click on each feature to view a short video about each. It also has navigation, and this super cool feature where I can open the trunk by just kicking my foot under the back and the trunk just pops open! It’s very handy for those times where you have your hands full of grocery bags! My car also came with 2 different “kidney grills”. One is black and one is chrome. I have the black one on my car:
I like the contrast in colors for sure. The chrome grill is in my trunk in case I ever want to switch them out. They just pop in and out easily.
There are also 3 different driving modes: Comfort, Sport, and Econo. Depending on which one you want, all you have to do is hit a button and you can go faster with a more sporty feel in Sport mode, experience a more luxurious ride in Comfort mode, or get the best gas mileage you can in Econo mode. I like to switch into Sport mode when pulling onto and traveling on the highway.
My buying experience was really incredible. I wanted to give a special thanks and shout-out to our salesman Carmine Forgione for being so patient, kind, and understanding. He drove us to their other location just to look at the car first, then let us take all the time we needed to decide if this purchase was right for us. He got us the best amount possible for our trade, and had no problem working with us on the price…after it was already reduced by a few thousand dollars already!
Carmine was actually a service advisor before deciding he wanted to help people by switching to sales. That’s a great asset in someone selling cars because they know the vehicles in and out. It also makes me feel good because if I have a question about how the car is running, or if I feel that something may be abnormal, I can just call him and get his experienced opinion first… possibly avoiding having to go through the hassle of going to the service department for every little thing.
What I admired most about Carmine was the fact that he paid attention to personal details. I think once the reality hit that we were actually going through with purchasing this car, I had just a tad of anxiety about making the commitment. Even though we knew we were sticking to our budget and making the right choice, my anxiety had me thinking about the “What If?s”. Carmine understood completely and we started talking about anxiety. I had mentioned during our conversation that I drink chamomile tea, and when I arrived the next day to go over the features, I got into the car and look what was sitting in the cup holder!
It showed that he was paying attention. Not only did he remember the chamomile tea, he remembered me mentioning that I consume as many organic products as I can because of my thyroid condition! He even gave us both a free BMW t-shirt! I recommend Carmine Forgione to anyone that’s in the market for a new or pre-owned car…HANDS DOWN.
