In one of my previous posts, I had mentioned one of my trips to Christmas Tree Shops, where I found a piece of furniture for our kitchen at a very reasonable price:
This is the before picture. The cream color matches the walls perfectly, except I thought the baskets would look much better if they were painted a dark brown color to match everything else in our kitchen. I’ve been in search for a while for something like this to hold our toaster, toaster oven, and anything else I can clear from my countertops to make them less cluttered.
The day I had gone into Pier 1 and purchased my “Thankful” pillow, I had spotted a 3 drawer holtom chest and 6 drawer haltom chest in the same color scheme. The piece we purchased from Christmas Tree Shops cost must less and had more room. ($89.99) It was a no brainer to me!
I chose to spray paint the baskets. It was a quick and simple process, not to mention cheap! Michael’s Crafts had the perfect color brown I needed and it was on sale for $3.99. I ended up using just about 2 full cans for all 3 baskets. I saturated them pretty well with the spray paint and let them dry in the sun for about 15 minutes before I brought them in the house. They had a little more drying to do, so I brought them into my bathroom and let them dry in the tub with the bathroom fan on.
Then it was time for the fun part! I reorganized our kitchen and now we have more counter space, and an extra piece of home storage that matches the rest of our decor:
Ta-da!! It looks so much better doesn’t it? The colors really pop!
If any of you are looking to reorganize your kitchen or any room in your home on a budget I recommend going to Christmas Tree Shops. They always have more of a variety then what you see in their mailer.
I hope this has inspired you or helped you in some way! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
