Nothing is more soothing to me than the spicy aroma of cinnamon in the air. It’s my go-to scent when I need a little mood lifting! A couple of months ago I had purchased a cinnamon broom and scented pine cones for our living room, but just as I predicted, the smell has almost completely diminished. I really wanted something that would fill my home with my favorite scent on more of a permanent basis, so my first thought was to look into finding those plug-in wall bulbs. Until I find the right one, I decided to pick up this super inexpensive buddha head oil burner and some cinnamon oil.
I found this little guy at Marshall’s about 2 weeks ago and he was on clearance for $4.50! Marshalls doesn’t have online shopping, so you can either visit their store, or I found one for even less here. I’ve really become a fan of incorporating things that bring me peace and positivity into my life for the past year or so, and this buddha is a great addition to that theme. It matches my home decor perfectly too! I found the oil at a flea market that Chris and I went to around the same time. I wish I would’ve bought more than one bottle, but I can always go back and get more :)
If you’ve never owned an oil burner (also called an oil warmer) it’s very simple to use. Just add a few drops of the oil into the designated area on top and place a tea light in the bottom and light it. Soon after you will be inhaling the sweet and spicy scent of cinnamon, or your choice of favorite oil.
*Never leave oil burner unattended and keep out of young children’s reach.
My favorite thing to do while using the buddha is to have the fireplace on at the same time. I’ve been writing my blog posts while sitting in my new tranquil and cinnamon filled surroundings and I’m really enjoying it! I know we’ve been having unusually warm weather lately, but our fireplace is electric and there is a no heat option. It’s crazy how making such a subtle change in my everyday routine can have such an influence on my mood right?
I think I’m going to try a pine scent after we put up our Christmas tree this year. I may even try mixing scents and see what happens. Do you enjoy filling your home with your favorite fragrances?
