I love fall weather more than anything, but the one thing I don’t like is the beginning of dry, rough, and in some cases cracked skin. As fall progresses into winter and the temperatures drop, my skin can suffer horribly from the effects of the cold outside, and the heat inside.
I learned how important caring for my skin was from the time that I was young. I remember battling eczema around age 7 or so, and visiting a dermatologist who told me I should be moisturizing with lotion every time I come out of the shower. He also recommended applying a body oil onto damp skin before I even apply the lotion. This seals in the moisture for those who suffer from very dry skin.
Through the years I’ve had plenty of experience trying out new moisturizing products and today I’m going to share my top recommended skin moisturizers that I have incorporated into my current moisturizing routine.
Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer – Ok, this stuff works and it works well. It’s simple to use and saves time. You just apply right after showering, but before drying off and you’re done. I’ve been using this product for the past week now, and I’m so happy I decided to try it! As of right now, I don’t have the need for lotion over it since we aren’t experiencing winter temps yet, but when I do, I will be applying my go-to favorite:
St. Ives Body Lotion – A traditional favorite of mine since middle school. (and that was a long time agooo!) All the of St. Ives formulas are great, but I tend to stick to the 24 Hr Deep Restoring formula. The Collagen Elastin formula is another good one.
Caudalíe Vinosource Sérum S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum – For me, my face is especially dry so I need to start with moisture that’s more concentrated. It’s basically for dehydrated skin. For best results, I layer it under my absolute favorite face cream:
Caudalíe Vinosource Riche Intense Moisture Cream – This is the best face cream I’ve ever used. If you have extremely dry skin on your face this product is no doubt for you. My skin stays soft and hydrated with this Caudalíe combo and it makes my makeup look flawless.
You can find Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer and St. Ives lotions at any local drug store or supermarket. The Caudalíe products are available at Sephora and Nordstrom. From my experience with these moisturizers, they make a world of a difference. My skin drinks the hydration and stays nice and soft.
If you share my struggle with dry skin I suggest giving these hydration boosting products a try. I would say at least start with the Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer, then layer a lotion over it in the winter if need be. As far as your face routine goes…I’ve never had results from anything else like I’ve had from these two Caudalíe products. If you have the means, I would give them a try. You can walk into any Sephora and ask for a sample of them. Their samples are a nice size, so you’ll get a good amount of uses out of them.
